Time for the dreaded Do’s and Don’ts list…
It’s all about one thing… Networking! A sore topic for most job seekers, and I won’t lie – I suck at this.
But here are few things I will do (and not do) and so should you!
Do:
* Offer help to others – this is best time to do that
* Be genuine – no hidden agenda, lots of curiosity
* Get in touch – just reach out to long lost friends and say Hi
* Be open to connections – open to conversations – not just open to work
Don’t:
* Expect immediate returns (or any returns for that matter)
* Obnoxiously promote anything
* Forget to be Grateful
I’ll linger on that last point a bit…
Just pickup the damn phone and type a quick thank you note! It’ll mean a lot to that human.
Once a day is plenty!
